Abstract:

A new genus, Adelopspeleon n. gen., and two new species of Cholevinae, Adelopspeleon acuminatum n. sp. and Pto- maphagus (Adelops) cubensis n. sp.., are described. Specimens of both species were captured in a cave near the Cube Lagoon. Basic characters defining the new genus are: 5th and 6th urites, genital segment of the males, and shape and structures of the aedeagus. The characters of both new species are analyzed and discussed, and a key to the South American species of Pto- maphagus is proposed. Finally, ecological and biogeographical data are provided.
